SEJARAH PKK KOTA JAKARTA TIMUR
Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) sebagai gerakan pembangunan masyarakat bermula dari Seminar "Home Economic" di Bogor pada tahun 1957. Sebagai tindak lanjut dari seminar tersebut, pada tahun 1961 Panitia Penyusunan Tata Susunan Pelajaran pada Pendidikan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) Kementerian Pendidkan bersama kementerian-kementerian lainnya menyusun 10 segi Kehidupan Keluarga.
Gerakan PKK di masyarakat berawal dari kepedulian Isteri Gubernur Jawa Tengah pada tahun 1967, Ibu ISRIATI MOENADI, setelah melihat keadaan masyarakat yang menderita busung lapar. Pada awalnya program PKKadalah 10 segi pokok PKK
Upaya untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan keluarga melalui 10 Segi Pokok Keluarga dengan membentuk Tim Penggerak PKK di semua tingkatan, yang keanggotaan timnya secara relawan dan terdiri dari tokoh/pemuka masyarakat, para Isteri Kepala Dinas/Jawatan dan Isteri Kepala Daerah sampai dengan tingkat Desa dan Kelurahan yang kegiatannya didukung dengan Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Daerah
Pada tanggal 27 Desember 1972 Menteri Dalam Negeri mengeluarkan Surat Kawat Nomor Sus 3/6/12 kepada Gubernur KDH Tk.I Jawa Tengah dengan tembusan Gubernur KDH seluruh Indonesia , agar mengubah nama Pendidikan Kesejahteraan Keluarga menjadi Pembinaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga. Indonesia dengan nama Pembinaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) dan tanggal 27 Desember ditetapkan sebagai "Hari Kesatuan Gerakan PKK" yang diperingati setiap tahun
Keluarga adalah unit terkecil dalam masyarakat, oleh karena itu dalam upaya mewujudkan masyarakat sejahtera harus dimulai dari upaya mensejahterakan setiap keluarga. Sehubungan dengan itu, maka TAP MPR Nomor : II/MPR/1978 tentang GBHN Bab IV D butir 10 tentang peranan wanita dalam pembanguan telah dengan jelas mengamanatkan kepada kaum wanita untuk
Pada tahun 1978 melalui Lokakarya Pembudayaan PKK di Jawa Tengah, disepakati 10 Segi Pokok PKK menjadi 10 Program Pokok PKK. Untuk dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan keluarga maka keluarga perlu dibekali dengan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang cukup. Pemberian bekal tersebut dilaksanakan antara lain melalui Gerakan PKK yang keberadaannya tersebar di seluruh Indonesia .
Keberhasilan Gerakan PKK dalam upaya meningkatkan kesejahteraan keluarga telah diakui oleh masyarakat, bahkan mendapat penghargaan dari lembaga-lembaga internasional (WHO, Unicef, Unesco, dan sebagainya). Dalam TAP MPR Nomor : IV/MPR/1983 tentang GBHN telah ditetapkan bahwa PKK (Pembinaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga) adalah salah satu wahana untuk meningkatkan peranan wanita dalan upaya menyejahterakan keluarga
